But, my husband worked for General Motors at the Harrison Radiator factory in Lockport in his younger years. My guess would be that Peter also worked at the same factory. Chances are that your Peter could have possibly worked as a blacksmith BEFORE working for Harrison Radiator. Harrison Radiator came into existence in the early 1900's. My husband's father started working there in the late 1930's-1940's. They sold the factory to Delphi Thermal Systems in the mid 1990's, and no longer use even half of the plant although all of the original buildings are still there. When we made a trip up to Lockport a few years back, we were able to view and access the old city directories at the public library to help us locate some of our family members in the early 1930's and 1940's. I would think that if you were able to find someone who would look through some of any of the three old newspapers at the library, you might find the obits you are looking for. I don't think you can request help from a librarian unless you had a fairly close death date, though. Here's one of the links to the library: http://www.lockportlibrary.org/lh.html. Good luck in your search. Hope that some of what I've shared will be helpful. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
