While searching the Fulton site previously mentioned on this site, I found in "The Niagara Falls Gazette" Sat. Oct 11, 1930 a Roger James LEO, Linwood Ave. & Olive BENNETT, Lockport St. Under the Marriage License's. Am hoping someone may know something on this. My Olive Bennett is listed on Lockport St. in the 1930 census. As d/o Frank J. & Carrie M. Bennett. Any one researching the Bennett or Leo families? Or can anyone tell how or if I can obtain a copy of the marriage license.. And what info. the license may contain.. Any help greatly appreciated.. Dawn, We were able to obtain copies of three marriage licenses at the city hall on the big bridge in Lockport a few years ago while visiting the Lockport area. They were all on my husband's now deceased father who had lived in Lockport and had been married four times. We had a fairly good idea of the dates of the marriages, which seemed to make it easier for the woman at the counter to find in the several large volumnes she needed to search through. I believe they charged us somewhere between $10-$13 for each copy. It seemed to me that it was only because his father was already deceased that they were willing to make copies for us, though. The license gave the date of the marriage, full name of each party as well as if the party was previously married or divorced. Also they had the name of the person who performed the marriage and the names of the witnesses to the marriage. We were able to piece together a timeline on his father's life using those copies.
