Because Hartland is close to Orleans County you might try the cemeteries there as well.  Fortunately, Orleans County has an excellent GenWeb site with much information, including cemeteries.  It is the best GenWeb I have used.  In fact, there is even a section in it about Niagara County cemetery connections. I agree with Evelyn Cooper that the first place to check for Hartland burials would be the Hartland Cemetery. Have you contacted the Niagara County Historian's Office.
