He was my GGGrandfather. I have few pictures of them as well. They did go to the St. Johnsburg/Bugolz. I used to live at 50 Stenzil St. and my GGrandparents lived at 44 Stenzil St. They moved in there after Wilhelmina died. To further confuss things Johann had married 2 women named Christine T H E N I A G A R A F A LL S G A Z E T TE Aged Man Struck By Train, Killed (From yesterday's Owl Edition) NORTH TONAWANDA. July 8., 1935 Believed to have been struck by a southbound passenger train of the New York Central railroad's Niagara Falls branch at the Washington Street crossing, the lifeless body of Christian Proefrock, 74 years old of 44 Stenzil Street was found this afternoon in a ditch beside the railroad track. The body was badly mangled and was ordered removed to Hamp's funeral Home, In Adams street, by Coroner Jacob Helwig, who investigated the accident He said that there were Indications that the man was struck on the crossing and had been dead about an hour. It was learned that there is a Southbound train which passes over the New York Central tracks at that point at about noon and authorities believe that this train struck the man, its crew unaware of the accident. He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmina Proefrock: five sons, John, of Tonawanda. August, of St. Johnsburg, and Edward, William and George, of North Tonawanda: three daughters. Mrs. Philip Whittkopp and Mrs. Rudolph Blank, of Walmore. Mrs. Arnold (sic) (Otto) Weyers, of North Tonawanda; one brother. August, of North Tonawanda. and one sister, Mrs. Gustave Schendel, of Nashville. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 o'clock from the home and 4 o'clock from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment will be in St. Mark's cemetery, Niagara Falls Boulevard.
