Dear Group, I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent me such warm messages of support regarding my upcoming surgery on Tuesday. You've helped me get through these past days. However, this afternoon, Sunday, I got a phone call from my doctor letting me know that before the plastic surgeon would agree to insert a saline implant in the course of my mastectomy, he would have to see me prior to surgery. And the earliest he could see me is next Friday. Therefore, Tuesday's surgery has been called off and will be rescheduled POSSIBLY the following week. You know, when I was a kid my mother always would say to me "It will strengthen your character" whenever I would whine about something unpleasant that I had to face up to and do. Well, up until now I thought that all the past unpleasant adversities that I've faced and dealt with would certify me as having a Strong Character and because of last week's adversity, I expected to finally receive a Certificate of Accomplishment!! But I guess the certification process doesn't work that way. And do you know what? I bet that all of our ancestors know just what I'm talking about and if they had the opportunity, all of them would say, "I could have told you that but you never asked!" Forgive me if I'm rambling here a bit. I'm still working on strengthening my character. But I swear if it gets any stronger, I'll be out at the mall shopping for hair shirts next! :-) vee
