In response to queries about land records in Niagara County. They have been microfilmed by the Mormon Church. You can research the availability of all microfilmed records for Niagara Co. by using the church's online Library Catalog at: http://familysearch.org/Search/searchcatalog.asp Land record research is a two-step process. First, you would look through microfilmed grantor (seller) & grantee (purchaser) deed indexes (by date & surname). Then, these index entries will direct you to the microfilmed deeds themselves. I've had great luck with these records -- land transfers were usually recorded, even when other records were not. I've even found family relationships in these records -- the sale of land by heirs of a deceased ancestor has given me names of the widow & all living children, as well as their spouses (thus giving me married names of daughters) -- they all had to sign! Good luck!
