He was born around 1830. He married Caroline Shaw who was born in Saratoga Co., NY but moved to Newfane, Niagra Co., NY in 1832 with her family. They had twelve children. I don't have the list available at the moment. Many of the Shaw family relatives resided in Newfane, Wilson, Lockport, and the area. My ancestor was Daniel Shaw, who married Phebe Wait. His son, Walter, b.1814, married MArgaret Demorest and also Lydia Coulter. Their son, Daniel Shaw married Delia Patterson. Some of the other relatives' surnames were Strong, Mason, Beers, Wilkins, Corwin, Petit, Stickles, and many more. We are bound to have someone in common. Henry Brown's brother-in-law owned a general store in Newfane with Wm. Beers. Wm Beers sold it and opened the 1st hardware store then the 1st car dealer - Ford- in the area.
