Posted on: Niagara Co. NY Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NY/Niagara?read=66 Surname: Stevens, McLaughlin ------------------------- I'm looking for the parents or siblings of Arnold Stevens and Charlotte McLaughlin who married and lived in Niagara Co, NY ca 1835-1855--probably earlier. I've been told Arnold (and Charlotte) were listed in the 1850 census as "Earle" but I don't have access to NY records so haven't been able to confirm. Also that he purchased Lot #30 in Youngstown NY on Oct 22, 1843 for $150 and sold it to Peter Tower on Mar 5, 1855 for $600. Also sold 1/2 of lot #32 in 4th range in Youngstown of Sept 16, 1854 for $300. He was a carpenter. Charlotte McLaughlin Stevens died in Niagara Co (probably Youngstown) in 1855 and was buried there with other infant children who died young. Have no idea what cemetery. After Charlotte McLaughlin Stevens died in 1855, Arnold Stevens moved to Knox Co, OH where other relatives lived. Census records there show he was born in VT in 1806. So I know he started out in VT, moved to Niagara Co (around Youngstown, I think), married and had several children, and left for OH ca 1855 where he lived with an Edward Beach, also from NY. An infant daughter, Ida Stevens, stayed in NY to be raised by relatives, married an Anderson and had sons Frank Anderson and William Anderson. Children of this couple were: Wesley Erial Elinor Ida Any links to this couple or information about Stevens/Stephens or McLaughlin families living in Niagara Co, NY during this period will be MOST appreciated as this is a major brick wall for me!! Thanks! Sara Patton
