I am researching Benjamin CORNELL, 1822-1899, who owned a grocery and liquor store in Lewiston, his three wives, and 14 children. Related families are BURKE, COLLARD, DERRY, HALE, HERGER, McEVOY, MINCHIN, PAXTON, PITZ, PITMAN, and TENBROOK. Let me know if anything rings a bell. David Cornell

The BURKE burials certainly show a CORNELL and McEVOY relationship and I recognized a COLLARD relationship to the CORNELL family. You have a cousin Tony COLLARD living here in Youngstown and he shared his family information for me. He descends from George and Bridget (KELLEY) COLLARD through their son Charles Eugene COLLARD, Sr. and Clara (CORNELL). I don't know if he knows who Clara's parents were. I have a theory of who Bridget (KELLEY) COLLARD's KELLEY family of Lewiston was but I don't have any hard evidence. Regarding the BURKE family, there's a biographical sketch of Michael BURKE, son of Thomas and Margaret (EAGAN) BURKE.in "Landmarks of Niagara Co., NY" by William Pool, 1897. I have a copy of the book. Regarding the PITZ family, I see the tie-in with your BURKE family in the biographical sketch of Philip P. PITZ (b 1863) in "Niagara Co., NY . . . " by Edward T. Williams, 1921. Philip was the proprietor of the Anglers Retreat Hotel in Lewiston. I have a copy of the book. David, let me know what days you'll be in Niagara Co. next week and hopefully we can get together on your families and share information. vee in Youngstown
