Dear Chris, et al, Yes, I'm OK. Or at least as OK for someone who is still having difficulty coping with the recuperation process of a radical mastecomy performed over a month ago. Progress is being made but at such a SLOW pace. Can't Mommy just kiss the boo boo and make it go away?? :-) But trust me, I'm totally impressed with the loving professional care I'm being given. Twice every day in the week Visiting Nurses come to my house to change my dressings and three times a week an Aide comes in to do things for me that I still can't do for myself--whether it be scrubbing my back in the shower or scrubbing my kitchen floor! Now frankly, all of these dear people are cluttering up my life with their poking and prodding and scrubbing, but next week it will be even more cluttered when I'll be periodically visited by an Occupational Therapist who will help me excercise my left arm that I haven't used very much due to the painful surgery. Gee, I'm sure looking forward to THAT! :-( Now here's a message for all of you taxpayers out there. The cost of ALL of the above care that I'm receiving at home is totally covered by MEDICARE (Plan A)--no cost to me. Until this happened to me, I didn't realize the importance of Social Security deductions from my paychecks over the years. Now I know, and maybe some of you others on the list now know. It's an agonizingly slow healing process, however, and it has sapped my mental strength. (I swear they also did a complete frontal lobotomy on me in surgery when I wasn't looking! :-)) Therefore, I'm still pretty much a mental zombie for most of the entire day with the few exceptions of moments like this one. I'm sooooo looking forward to the day when my sanity returns and I can get back to posting meaningful messages to the list on the subjects that are important to all of us--the genealogy and history of Niagara County. Chris, thanks for letting me know that you were thinking of me. I NEEDED that! :-) vee ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Leonard <cleonardca@earthlink.net> To: <NYNIAGAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 23, 2000 11:00 PM Subject: vee > haven't seen any messages from vee... > > are you ok, vee? or am i missing some messages? just wanted you to know i > was thinking of you and hoping you're ok! > > love > > chris > > > ==== NYNIAGAR Mailing List ==== > Looking for a dead-end Niagara County ancestor?
