However, have found a Jacob TRIER on a NY census through Ancestry.com. It shows a Jacob TRIER, yr 1850, in Niagra County NY., page 275. The ID# NYS6a2956669. I do not know why I was told he was b in Buffalo, NY...nor do I know how to explain the difference between the years he was alive & when the census was taken. I am very, very new to genealogy. Happened to come across his name...my father's middle name is TRIER & I was always told he was named after his ggrandfather. I got my information from a sheet that was hastily filled out by his Aunt who is now deceased. Any suggestions, help, whatever...would be so appreciated! I'm in Arizona...100 miles from large cities. We do have a FHC, but couldn't find anything like I did on this site. It's probably due to the fact that I am so new & not used to looking for the right things. TIA Jennifer in Arizona
