He located in the Erie area of Pennsylvania after disembarking from a ship in upstate New York's Lake Erie area in 1797. He migrated to the northern York County area where he married Sarah LEITFUT. He is buried in Filey's cemetery in Monaghan Twp., York Co., PA. He was reportedly married previously while living in the Erie area.
