I just talked last week with the Niagara County Historian, Mr. Dickinson, and inquired as to whether Niagara County Clerk's Office had the 1847-1850 vital records that are available for both Orleans and Otsego Counties. That was the only period of time registration of vitals was done until it was accomplished state-wide in 1880. Mr. Dickinson is looking into this. I know for a fact they were done for the Towns of Royalton and Hartland in Niagara County because there are excepts for some of those towns in the file card box at the Niagara County Historian's Office. He is intrigued by this possibility and said he will definitely pursue.
