GREEN and his family left Niagra County, New York around 1850-55. He settled in Peoria County Illinois and began to farm here. He is listed in the Illinois census of 1855. His father-in-law, Obadiah BATES came with him. My gggrandfather, son of Luther K. Green, George Green was born in Niagra County. Any help on these two families would be greatly appreciated. Luther K. GREEN died in 1865 and his family continued to live here. I have been able to locate much of the GREEN family in Illinois but have lost Obadiah BATES after 1865 or so.
