    3. Ken, My search was for any place name beginning with "ran." That would have returned Ransom Corner as well. The site I used is topozone.com. If you go to the advanced search (view maps, place name search) you can input the first several characters of the place name you are looking for as long as you change the search from exact match to begins with. I've found it useful many times for finding locations that aren't returned by mapping software like Yahoo, Google, or Mapquest. Good hunting. 3. Here is another possibility. Check out www.historicmapworks.com They have a 1908 Niagara County Atlas that is able to be viewed by each town and zoomed in on to see the names of the property owners. What I would do is to search for a small grouping of families with the surname RANDALL or a farm by that name near an intersection. I just took a very quick look and nothing jumped out at me but if you spend some serious time with it you might get lucky. See my review of the fantastic new services of Historic Map Works on my website at www.unyg.com and in my Blog on research for Upstate New York Genealogy. Dick Hillenbrand On 1/31/07, Daniel E.
