The family was Methodist. His parents; Noah and Amarilla Levings. Are there census records for the 1860`s or 70`s? John C`s grandfather [Charles Levings] was in the area and also his great grandfather [Noah Levings-he was receiving pension for his military service-he appears to have died in 1840`s] in Niagara County.
