Johanna Katherine Elisabeth Kluss Schulz most likely died from complications of giving birth on March 29, 1875. She had given birth to a child on March 27, 1875. This child is also listed as having died on the same date. She also had another unnamed child die on January 6, 1874. She married Johann Schulz (as listed on the records)on December 19, 1869. She was born December 11, 1839 in Glashagen, Mecklenburg. Fred and Wilhemina were married before July 12, 1875 as they are listed in the 1875 census together. Since my original post I have found out that Waldemar Lohrmann did indeed teach at St. Michael's. Anna's father, Fred Shulz was born in Penzin, Mecklenburg Schwerin. Shortly after arriving in NY he married Johanna Kluss. Johanna died in 1875, leaving a young son, Rudolph. Fred remarried Wilhemina Haack, sometime between 1875 & 1877. Wilhemina immigrated with her young daughter, Ernestine, sailing from Bremen and arriving in NY in 1871. It isn't clear whether Haack was Wilhemina's maiden name or if she was a widow and it was her late husband's name. I have not been able to find out where in Germany Wilhemina came from. One record I have says she was from Pomerania, but I don't know if this is correct. She died 2/24/1925 in Buffalo and is burried in Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport. My Schultz family was originally from Wellsville, then Lancaster and finally Oakfield NY. The immigrant was Johan Schultz from Mecklenberg, wife Mary or Marie Schroeder. They came around 1850. He may have had a brother or relative by the name of Louis. Are they found in any of your records? They were married at St. Michael's so I am sure he would have taught at the German school there. I doubt he was a teacher at the district school. I can also GAURENTEE he wasn't a teacher at Trinity Lutheran as the two churches did not socialize with each other. Her mothers maiden name was listed as Haack on the marriage record. My g-g-g-g grandfather was Peter Oliver d. March 1837 in Pendleton. He married Phoebe P. Howell or Hazen (m. George LeValley after Peter died) and they had the following children: Isaac Oliver b. 1824 m. Esther LeValley (my ancestors) Ichabod Oliver b. 1826 m. Louisa Hall George B. Oliver Emily Oliver m. unknown Dailey/Dayley (who died as a POW during the civil war) Sarah Oliver m. George LeValley III Angelina/Amanda Oliver m. Charles Tibbits or James LeValley Tibbits as you see there were many intermarriages among the Oliver, LeValley and Tibbits families. I recently came into possession of the Will of Peter Oliver. The administrators of his will were his wife and a man by the name of David O. Howell. Searching through the message board and census records I have found some Howells in the Niagara area. In addition I have found a 1830 census for a Peter Oliver in York, Livingston Co, NY. Interesting bit with this census is that there were two David Howells on that record, a David and a David O. The first david, and oldest, is actually on the same page as Peter Oliver. I cannot confirm that these people are the same but it would be a strange coincidence. In addition to these names a Richard Oliver was mentioned in documents as having purchased land from George T. LeValley, the second husband to Phoebe and step father to Peters children. So I must assume he is of some relation to Peter. I wanted to include as much information as I know regarding my Oliver family in hopes that one of these names rings a bell with someone doing research on their family.
