The Tonawanda paper has been recently added to this marvelous site. All I did was enter Gentz. I got several hits about the North Tonawanda family. I think I remember going to the grocery store with my mother as a young child. It was in the days before supermarkets. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It would likely be in the earliest years of the listing. I'm trying to find out another GENTZ who might have been the reason that another GENTZ came over here. I don't have any particular name at this point; this is a first step for me. My known ancestor is August GENTZ. Thank you so much. I have the 100th Anniversary listing (1891-1991)that they published. It lists, by year, births, confirmations, marriages, and deaths. It also lists information about board members and history. It is not, at this time, easily searchable. It's just a paper copy. But if you think your relative may be in here, and can give me an approximate date, I'll look it up for you. Details are not given (such as their parent's names). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. However, there may had been other wood based compositions that had contained it. Also, by the time that indurated fiber started being used for underground cable insulation, this was a new recipe that I did not document or pay much attention to (so it may have but unsure). I am glad that you found the site useful :-) Thank you -- Michael Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Your site was very helpful to me. I know that you have put a lot of work into your site, and I appreciate you taking your time to send me the information. I actually read on and watched the videos you had posted too. The 1959 video actually made me sad to think that those workers were exposed to the asbestos and the illness/death that they could have and did go through and the government knew. So if I understand the Fiber they used to create the United Fibre Company was used also from asbestos? With the information I found out regarding the movie it wouldn't surprise me. Again, I found all the information you had on your site was great, I am going back and I am going to read more regarding the rock forms and types. To be complete, I did cover indurated fiber and the different company's history. Indurated fiber (though first used for "fibreware" was also later used form electrical insulation. The section covering fiber can be found at the link below: http://antiquesockets.com/bergmann-sub-section-insulating-materials.html#VulcanizedFiber It is a long illustrated section and indurated fiber is covered in several different areas as you scroll down. The main link to where indurated fiber is covered is found here: http://antiquesockets.com/bergmann-sub-section-insulating-materials.html#indurated4 Other miscellaneous areas are listed below: http://antiquesockets.com/bergmann-sub-section-insulating-materials.html#indurated1 http://antiquesockets.com/bergmann-sub-section-insulating-materials.html#indurated2 http://antiquesockets.com/bergmann-sub-section-insulating-materials.html#indurated3 I hope that this helps you.
