Would there be anyone who help me find some graves. I'm talking about the Hartland Central Cemetery on the south side of the Ridge Road, west of the Quaker Road. All I would ask is the names and dates written down for me, no pictures necessary. If anyone would care to help, let me know and I'll send you the names. Thanks, Evelyn, in Colorado ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Posted on: Niagara Co. NY Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/NY/Niagara/367 Surname: STODDARD, TWITHEL, DUNN ------------------------- Ivory Stoddard was my g grandfather. I have a good deal of information about descendants from his second marriage to Helen Marie DUNN. Their first two children apparently were born in Niagara Falls, NY. His first wife was named Eunice. I've been told by others that her surname was TWITHEL, though I've not seen any firm evidence for that. I just recently found the family in the NY state censuses of 1855 and 1865 in Akron in the town of Newstead. She is listed in the US census of 1870 (Akron in Newstead) with two children and a John Twithel, boarder, but Ivory is not listed. I would be happy to share what information I have and to learn of your information.
Hello everyone. Sending this to the Vermont, Niagara Co, NY and Pratt mailing lists. Found a couple of websites related to Ontario, Canada genealogy and some of the early records... Have sent here the PRATT names I found in the transcribed index from "New England Captives Carried to Canada between 1677 and 1760 During the French and Indian Wars" by Emma Lewis Coleman - that was transcribed and put up at the site. You can search this index here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wjmartin/captives.htm Do wander around the site.. and another linked site... as there are a lot of church records (and other records) for "lower" Canada... from directly above Vermont... all the way over to Niagara Co in western New York. Meanwhile... for this one book of the multitudes of information at the sites... here are the results of the surname search I did at the site for the New England Captives book: No FAY, GRAVES, HOSMER or KITTREDGE surnames listed. << PRAT, NOAH, II, 292, 329. PRATT, AMOS, I, 107; II, 177, 208. EBENEZER, II, 371. EUNICE GAFFIELD, II, 291, 321-2. JOSEPH, II, 357. >> The roman numerals refer to volumes one and two of the set. Enjoy! debbie CAhobbies@aol.com

Vee, I enjoyed reading about the area. Glad you put the response on the list. Reading an old history of Chautauqua Co. it states a man, Milo Knapp, was called up from the Clear Creek/Ellington areas to serve in the war of 1812. It gave other small details about their sparse life there. Your response parallels that one. Susanne shieber@aol.com
