This was posted on another list. I thought it quite interesting, maybe others will too. Evelyn You click on a state and it has old penny postcards from a long time ago. You can look in the state at different counties. If you don't see a picture under the county, just click on that county and it will bring them up. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/special/ppcs/ppcs.html

Gail, There is a Rootsweb list for Erie County. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gail Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 3:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NYNIAGAR] Deaths in Buffalo I don't know if there is an Erie County mailing list so am posting my query to this list - hopefully someone living in Buffalo can answer my question or help me out. The Buffalo Libary has a statewide index for birth, marriage and deaths on fiche. I would think they would be in alphabetical order by year - and perhaps one year on one fiche which to me would be a simple lookup? I am hoping to find the death of JESSIE COLLINS - she married John Collins 1912 in Buffalo and died before he came back to Ontario to volunteer for WW1. So Jessie died prior to 1918 - If it is a simple check I would be indebted for someone to help me out. I would search 1915 - 1917 (and I think for some reason it might be 1916. She is not buried at Forest Lawn in Buffalo. I suppose they could have moved to Niagara Falls so it might be listed there? Buffalo has access to the microfilm for births, marriages, and deaths of those who lived in New York State. You could check that if you are able to go to the library in Buffalo. Or they may have waited and got married in Columbus, Ohio. You could check there also. Have a good day and good luck.
