It seems that on all the censuses that John and Lorinda (Peck) Leonard were in Niagara Co., I wonder how Elmer ended up being born in Lydonville, Orleans Co? You had no marriages reported for Elmer and Zilpha's 2 daughters: Olive Ann and Mary Lorinda. But I found on 1910 and 1920 census Julius (appears to be son of Charles from Germany and Sophia from NY) and Olive (at the correct age!) ISRAEL. They have 2 children, Gladys and a son Elmer which made me wonder if this might not be the Olive who was Elmer LEONARD's sister? Did your cousin's family group sheet give cemetery burial place for any of the family? I had been told that John LEONARD's parents, James H. and Mary (Van Tassel) LEONARD were buried at Corwin Cemetery (Niagara Co,NY) but cannot find this cemetery information on-line anywhere. Was Edna Baker (your father's oldest sister) born June 1889 AND the dau of John L. Baker born Jan 1862 in NY, his father B-gERMANY AND HIS WIFE Bertha born Mar 1871 in NY? I thought it was great to learn that Zilpha FORBES was the daughter of Benjamin FORBES because on the two censuses where I found him he was listed as Franklin FORBES. My g-grandfather LEONARD was also a Benjamin Franklin (called "Frank"). Nice to have Olive TAYLOR info as his wife. I bet Olive Ann Leonard is the name sake of Olive A (for ANN?) Forbes! Now if I could only figure out who were the parents of James H. LEONARD!

Born abt Aug 1843, possibly had twin brother Albert? Family story claims they were born aboard a ship and their parents died. Wesley served in the Civil War 1864-1865 and birth place on CW records says he was born in Lockport, NY. His death certificate says his father was Wm Cooley, b USA, mother Martha Baker b Germany. The 1st census record I find Wesley in Vestal, Broome Co. NY living with Charles Underwood family. 1860 has them in York County, PA. with Charles Underwood family, Wesley is listed as J.W. Underwood, servant. 1870 census he is back in NY in Cortland County. He started getting his CW pension 1882. If anyone can help me solve this mystery I sure would appreciate it.

Perhaps, the "Honeymoon Capital" , Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York or Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, which are a very short walk across the bridge from each other.
