Clifton Kent MARSHALL & Sarah E. STICHT were married in North Tonawanda on 16 AUG 1900. Sarah was from that area (living with her sister & brother-in-law, a local building contractor named William Allen). Clifton was up from Buffalo where he was a superintendent for the International Traction Company. Their marriage announcement was carried in the "North Tonawanda Evening News", on Friday 17 August 1900. They were married in the home of Sarah's sister by the Rev. Duncan Cameron (church denomination unknown). I need to find information on C.K. Marshall's parents, his DOB and where exactly he was born in New York. Will this marriage record help me with any of this type of information? If so, how do I go about getting a copy of this? Many thanks for any help anyone can provide. Contact the City Clerk's office at 716-695-8555. They should be able to tell you if they would have a record from that time. I would be more than happy to look for her obit in the Tonawanda News but without a more definitive date, it will be really hard to find. Back then, obits were not in a specific location of the daily paper. Now, it's very easy to find them as they are always on the same page. I reposted thinking perhaps the contact service through Ancestry didn't go through. Well, my great uncle Walter Gormely was definately married to Elizabeth Roberts. Their basic marriage record info is as follows: Marriages 1928 Gormely, Walter G. to Roberts, Lillian E. 19 April 1928 Lockport, Niagara Co., NY Marriages 1902 Roberts, Robert E. Slater, Fannie 3 Sept 1902, Lockport, Niagara Co., NY I thought I had a birth record for Elizabeth [Lllian] Roberts but must have missed writing it down or else did not find one. I spent several hours in the Onondaga County Library in Syracuse NY last week looking for information on various members of my family. Obituary for Walter Gormely Lockport Barber Dies in City Hospital A Lockport barber, Walter B. Gormley 58, of 23 W. Main St. died early today in Lockport City Hospital after an illness of several weeks. Surviving are his wife Elizbeth,, two sons, Franklin Gormley, Wilket; Staff Sgt. Charles Austine Gormley, Caribbean Area; his parents Mr. and Mrs. James Gormley of Lockport; three sisters, Mrs. William Lewis, Frankford; Mrs. Norman Kleinhans, and Mrs. Marie Brath of Lockport; three brothers, Claude and Glenn Gormley of Buffalo; and Lyle Gormley of Gasport. Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 at the Taylor and Reynold Funeral Home, 70 Niagara St. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. There was no date on the clipping which came down to me from my g-gmother, Walter's mother. But a cousin tells me that it was April 16, either 1945 or 1946. I didn't have the opportunity to check for his death record, but I know it's at the town/city clerks office in Lockport. Try my email again: [email protected] or alternate email: [email protected] I have many family pictures etc that I can send as attachments, but will need your email address to do so.
