    2. I find a Dr William J Schmith died July 1, 1911. Obit is in Tonawanda News. Also a Mrs Alice E Schmitt dies 2 weeks later on July 18, 1911. Don't know if this is your folks or not. I only have access to index of obits. Contact the Historical Society of the Tonawandas (email: [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) or web site _www.tonawandashistory.org_ (http://www.tonawandashistory.org) ) to see if they can get copy of obit - or stop in and visit if you are in the area. I do know Cambria was made up from another county way back. My curiousity is in your Harriet Farley. You said she was from England, but came there in 1851 or so. I have a ggggrandfather, Reuben Farley who was a Universalist Methodist Minister in Cambria and surrounding area. His ancestors are from England. Any connection? Also looking for Horace, his son who did not go to Ohio with him. Thanks, Dolly Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I am trying to find Henry Johnson, the first blacksmith of Wilson, who died in Branch County, Michigan 21 May 1872, but was returned to Wilson for burial sometime after that. His wife, Catharine died about 1864 in Wilson according to Niagara County histories. I am hoping to discover her maiden name as well. Any help from the cemetery lady would be appreciated. I descend from Jotham and can't find where or when he was buried. Believe it it could be Our Jotham on the 1840 census in Niagara CO. NY. Nothing after that. Thanks for any help you can give me. 3. Finally found my great-great grandparents, William and Alice Schmith listed on the 1910 census. They were living in N. Tonawanda. Have not been able to find them after that. There were in Buffalo prior to 1900, and I have a strange feeling they might have moved back to Buffalo. I know they spent some time in Lockport. Would love to find out where and when they died and where they are buried. Anybody have any info that might help me? Thanks so very much. Bill Hinkle Grand Junction, CO [email protected]

Author: tigerlillya Surnames: Serio Palestine Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.niagara/3156/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My grandmother, Mary (Serio) Palestine came to the US from Sicily in 1912, first settled in NYC, lived in the Lewiston area with my grandfather for a few years, then lived most of her years in Buffalo. In the 1920 census, they both lived in Lewiston, but by the 1930 census, they were in Buffalo. (Mary was born in 1898, and died in 1977.) She always spoke about being naturalized, but where would I get a copy of the naturalization record or document? Also, I'm not sure if my grandfather, Biagio (or William) Palestine, was naturalized or not, as he died when I was just a child. Is there a way of finding out this info? His year of birth was 1891 (in Giulianova, Italy) and the year of his death was 1957 (in Buffalo). Thanks ahead of time. His Father was George Rudolph Frederick Urtel and Mother was Luella P Baehr. I also wonder if Erna was really Erma. I never heard of that name before...and the old German script was extreemly hard to read. I did a census for Rootsweb once, (Niagara County 1850, I think) and it was so difficult to make out the spellings. Has anyone ever contacted Gary Urtel yet? I will try, but don't want to be a pest if someone else already did. Viv Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
