    1. Re: [NYNIAGAR] Lockport New York!!!
    2. Hi Daniel Before responding to Tressa I did a bit of work on the Edward Diver but with no success. I do not find him in Lockport, NY, and while one of the queries I saw suggested he might have been in Buffalo, which is 20 miles distant, it did not look like too good a possibility to me. Be assured that if I find anything on Edward, it will come your way. 1. Re: [NYNIAGAR] Lockport New York!!!
    2. Hi Tressa Just a couple of questions for now. To your knowledge, where was Mary buried? There is a Mary E. Devine buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Lockport, as well as a Charles, although they are not buried in the same plot. I had assumed this to be your Mary and Charles but now am a bit uncertain. Researching across the pond to Ireland is not an easy task but I'll try to put together some possibilities for you. Luck plays as big a part as anything. Just for my database, do you know the maiden name of Isabel(le), wife of James? I find them in the census of course but am always anxious to round up specific identities for the database, which at the moment carries about 33,000 names. Will get back to you in a couple of days and hopefully with some thoughts that can help you. I grew up in Lockport and knew your Mary. She lived next door to the woman I married and was known to everyone as 'Grandma Devine'. For some years I have been creating a database of all families I could identify with an Ireland origin in the eastern part of Niagara County, NY. Naturally her name was already in the base. Your query helped me however with her maiden name, which I did not know and I will enter her as Diver and Weir. Tell me a bit about the line you descend from and perhaps I can help your search. Charles and Mary had 3 sons, James, John and Francis (Frank) and a daughter Marguerite who married P.H. Geyer of Buffalo. I have limited information on all of them. Since I have no idea just what you know and what you do not know, it would be helpful if you could tell me what you know and what you are trying to confirm. Her maiden name was Weir, sometimes listed as Diver as that was her stepfather's surname - I think her mother's first name was Ann, but I am not positive. She was married to Charles Devine, of Strabane, and they came to the US through Canada. I've been trying to find some information on her family so if you check this thread, I'd love to speak with you. NY, had a son named Amos Anson Hurlburt. It would be interested in seeing where the name came from and if there is a connection. Our Amos Anson Hurlburt was born in 1828 and died in 1846, on his 18th birthday. His parents were Charles & Elizabeth (Lewis) Hurlburt. Thank you. Lois Haile [email protected]

During this time he married Anna Shultz on Jan,1,1903. Anna was born on 8/29/1883 to Johann Fredrich Heinrich and Wilhemina Shultz. The Shultz family is found in the 1880 census in Royalton, Niagara, NY. with children Rudolph, Fredrick & Amelia (Millie). According to family records, Johann Fredrich (called Fred) was born on 1/26/1836 in Mechlenburg Schwerin, and emigrated to Wolcottsville in 1869. The census record lists his birth place simply as Germany. Wilhemina's maiden name may have been Haak. The census record lists her as having been born in Prussia around 1840. I have a picture of her with a notation that it was taken at the Shultz farm in Gasport. Some of the records I have spell the family name Shulz or Schultz. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? I would like to find out what school Waldemar Lohrmann taught at, and confirm the info! rmation I have about Anna's parents, especially Wilhemina's maiden name.
