There are several genealogies that include the name Dennis Dailey, father Peter Dailey, mother Mary Kenney. Since I have been researching this line, I have seen his birth date go from 1837 somewhere near Niagara or south of Niagara Falls to March 18/1837 Niagara Falls, New York. I have left this person (Dennis Dailey) out of my research because everything seems to be so well documented, but now it's starting to bug me and nobody with this name in their tree seems to respond to me! I would also like to know if anyone knows the requirements for being baptized posthumously to the LDS church. I see now that he has been baptized in 2003. Does the baptizer need proof of original baptism or birth? Pulling my hair out! Janet Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Thank you so much for replying. I don't believe , though, that they would have been related since their sons went with them to Michigan in the mid 1850's where they all died in Lapeer or Eaton County, MI. It's reassuring to know that there are others reading the messages for this state. If there is anyone who lives in the Lockport area and, also, needs research done in Michigan and would like to exchange research, I do have access to records in Mason, Lapeer, and Saginaw Counties of Michigan. Currently, I am doing this with someone in CT and have sent her a very large amount of information on her Lapeer Co. family surname. Thanks again.... I am referring to Mary Weir Diver Devine, who was married to Charles Devine and is my great great grandmother (at least my grandfather, her grandson, says so :) ). I look forward to seeing what you are able to discover about both of their families - I'd thought I hit a wall until I found your post. I believe that Mary Devine and the Edward Diver were half-siblings, with the same mother. So if you have information on Edward's mother that would be very helpful. I did have some information on Mary's siblings - I have Edward, William, Samuel, Hugh, and possibly two John's (my grandfather thinks he remembers that Mary had a brother John, and when her mother remarried a Diver that he also wanted a son named John). I had never followed up on them because my great aunt just named them with no specifics. I searched for Edward today and did find the following death notice for William Diver in the Fulton Patriot (New York state) on 13 Jan 1944: Diver - Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lester Day, 418 Cayuga street, Jan. 11, William Diver, aged 64 years. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Day; a son, Warrant Officer, Junior Grade, William L. Diver of the Signal Corps Training Center, army air base, New Orleans, La,; a sister, Mrs. Mary Devine of Lockport, and three brothers, Edward Diver of Buffalo and Samuel and Hugh Diver of Strabane, Ireland. Mr. Diver was a native of Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland. He came to this country 41 years ago. For the past 22 years he had resided in Fulton and for the last 14 years he held the situation of stationary engineer and fireman at the McHenry Millhouse(?) plant. Death came as the result of an illness of several months. I found it at fultonhistory.com, by typing in Edward Diver and making it search for the exact phrase. The direct link is http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton Historical Photos/Newspapers/The Fulton patriot/Newspaper (Fulton Patriot 1944) pdf/Newspaper (Fulton Patriot 1944) - 0012.pdf#xml=http://www.fultonhistory.com/dtSearch/dtisapi6.dll?cmd=getpdfhits&u=ffffffffb5171b98&DocId=911527&Index=I:/Fulton Historical&HitCount=2&hits=183 184 &SearchForm=c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Fulton_New_form.html&.pdf I'll keep looking - I hope to hear from you soon! I don't remember the other names, but for some reason the Orcutt stands out in my mind.? I believe they were in the very back of the cemetery on the left side and again I think one was a minister of some sort.?
