I received the following letter and I'm appealing to the area lists for their help .. ____________________ My name is Sebastiaan Vonk. I am 14 years old and I live in The Netherlands. A few months ago have I adopted the grave of SHEA, Lawrence F. He was a corporal in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th US Infantry-Division and he was killed in action in or near Kassel, Germany, on April 2nd, 1945. I don't know much about him but I found that he was born in Brooklyn, NY. I would like to tell his family that I look after his grave but I do not know where to look for them. I have contacted the NARA but probably his records were lost in the fire that destroyed part of the records in July of 1973. It is very difficult to find information about him. Perhaps his family still lives in Brooklyn. I hope that you want help me find this family? Hi- I would suggest she post to the Genforum WWII boards, or the Shea boards on Genforum and Rootsweb. Its hard to know which Shea family is the right one. I looked at a census for 1910 in Brooklyn and there were three pages of people.
