He was from Scotland, arriving New York ca 1805-1812. Opened a business in weaving on Greenwich St. in the West Village. In Oct of 1814 he married a Phebe PUGSLY in the Dutch Reformed Church in Greenwich Village. Some time after, they moved west to Ohio, where my research really began. Problem: I doubt if there would be any records of his business - it's possible, but - where to research records, tax, licenses, etc? I have a brick wall on Phebe and family - where to look for that data?
