Sue: The following is taken from Ancestry's description of it's db for the New York 1890 Police Census "...... includes books 2, 5, 6, and 7, in addition to the books previously published in this database. Those previously posted books include: 58, 59, 60, 61, 953, 954, 955, 956, 957, 958, 959, 960, 961, 962, 963, 964, 965, 966, 969, 971, 972, 977, 980, 982, 983, and 990. These constitute 26 of the 894 extant books; 114 books are missing, and most of the original books do not have pages numbered. When consulting the original, read page 1 as the first page with names on it in each book. The books are public records and can be found in the Family History Library, under the following microfilm numbers #1304781, #1309970, and #1304777."
