Gerald Lebenberg, age 57, of Thiells, NY, died suddenly of a heart attack on Sunday, July 18, 1999. He was born in New York City on July 12, 1942, to Jennie and Jack Lebenberg. He was retired from the New York City Department of Homeless Services where he was Director of Regulatory Compliance for the New York City Shelter Systerm. Mr. Lebenberg is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Flo; three devoted daughters, Margot, Michelle and Ivette; two sons-in-law, Stuart Chasanoff and Scott Reich; one grandson, Jack Tyler Chasanoff; and his sister and brother- in-law, Estelle and Carl Fryberg. Gerald was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was a kind, loving and generous person always offering to help others. Gerald will be greatly missed by his family and friends more than can be expressed by these few words. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Hellman Memorial Chapels in Spring Valley, NY. Shiva will be held at the family home in Thiells, Tuesday through Sunday 1-5 pm and 7:30-9 pm. Donations in Geraldës memory may be sent to the Jewish Federation of Rockland County.
