Hello, I hope someone can help me. I would like some advice as to where I might be able to obtain any further information on JAMES McKINNEY (born in Antrim, Ireland on 25 Nov. 1884 - although he later states 1883). 1) I have not been able to track down any immigration record for James but Irish census data would indicate sometime from 1901-1911. 2) On his 1918 Draft registration card, James states the following: DOB: 25 Nov. 1883 Place of work: 111 Broadway, NYC. Name & Address of someone who ill always know your address: Mrs. John Cavanagh (friend), 6 137 W 63 NYC 3) On his 1942 Draft registration card, James states the following: DOB: 25 Nov. 1883 Place of work: Chubb & Son, John St. NYC. Name & Address of someone who ill always know your address: Mrs. Catherine Cavanagh, 6 Amsterdam, Ave., NYC 4) Despite knowing that he must be in NYC I can't find James on the 1910, 1920 or 1930 US Fed census (or Catherine for that matter). 5) There doesn't seemed be a SS death record. For some reason James seems to have kept a very low profile only giving information to the authorities when he had no other choice. In particular I would like to find a death record for James (and then perhaps a burial plot). I don't know if James was a church-goer but he would have been born into a Presbyterian family. I would have expected James to have died sometime after 1948 and so somewhere at the DOHMH there should be a record of it but I don't know how to apply for a record if I don't have an actual DOD. Any ideas? All help in obtaining any further information would be most gratefully received. Fiona. IGP County Down Coordinator. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nirdow2/
