I am trying to contact the photo department at the Municipal records building in order to get a picture of the building my Grandfather had a Restaurant/Tavern. Unfortunately, I do NOT know the address and the last time I was there was in 1940. I know that Peter Styvesant or Peter Copper village has take over that whole area of the East side from about 15th to 19th Streets after WWII. Can anyone suggest how I can get a photo or the address for this place , it was on the corner of one of theses streets from 15th to 18th and 2nd Ave. I have tried looking thru Trows directories abut can find no listing for it for years 1922-34. My grandfather lived close by and walked to work, not sure but think on 19th St. Thank you.
