Hello, Sort of off topic...I will be in NYC to do some genealogy stuff, but also some personal fun stuff, July 18-20. I have never been to NYC. I will be with a friend who is blind and has a guide (so that's 2 women and a dog). We want to stay in Manhattan, if possible, but don't want to ransom the ranch, either. Neither of us knows anything about NYC, so I would really appreciate an "insider" who could tell us where NOT to stay (general areas) and who would allow me to email a short list of hotels I found in the AAA guidebook and give me an opinion. I am cautious about some of the hotels that seem to be in our price range (cheap), even ones with big chain names attached. Thanks--and sorry if this is only sort of related. My geneaolgy question is: I've been to the Municipal Archives website, but it doesn't say how many microfiche readers they have. Is it usually easy to get a reader for a day--or is there a long wait? Please email me off-list if you can help. Thanks! Mona
