At various times, I taught History, Political Science, and Psychology (General and Abnormal). Most recently, I taught Graduate students, primarily Doctoral students. I taught the History of Higher Education, College Student Personnel Administration, and Guided Doctoral Students in Dissertation Research. I was Dean of Students for about 20 years. I've published widely and have served on several National Committees. I've liked everything I have done, but especially training new Doctoral students. Then, I had two strokes. Early Retirement. My Neurologist suggested that I pursue genealogy because she knew that I was trying to uncover my mother's family history. It was a good suggestion, and I am confident that I've uncovered her mother, Mary Remak. I have discovered the name of her father (John Remak), but it's a relatively common Hungarian name in New Jersey where I grew up, and I hope to make progress on identifying who, specifically, he was. I really enjoy genealogy and have made a number of good friends. I have the use of one arm, have vision problems, take about 20 pills a day, and am confined to a wheel chair. I feel fortunate because I have several good friends, and I'm making progress. That's the short version . I'm an old school teacher, and I know that I make errors in typing--often too many of them. The caps have helped me to clean up my mistakes. And please let me assure you that I am not angry at anyone about anything. Actually, I feel quite fortunate, and I enjoy genealogy tremendously; Inow have the opportunity to resolve old mysteries in my family.> > Lou Barsi> From: ngharkey@sbcglobal.net> To: nynewyor@rootsweb.com> Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2008 15:21:50 -0400> Subject: Re: [NYNEWYOR] Happy Constitution Day> > I want to issue a public apology to Lou. If you, Lou, have vision problems I apologize talking the way I did, I just know from net etiquette all caps are considered loud and angry.
