    1. [NYNEWYOR] CAPITALIZATION
    2. Some human, who no one can identify, made up that stupid "rule" that online communication in CAPS denotes anger, not passion, emphasis, or writing dramatic dialogue, etc., etc, etc. [She writes in 12 font bold, due to poor vision.] Who was this Emily Post of conversing online? No one knows, but we are all supposed to adhere to it? How ridiculous! Unless a specific list requires it, what's the difference? What about those who write offline in all capital letters? Perhaps we should send them off for Palmer penmanship lessons. [Opps! That may be construed by readers as "age discrimination."] Such guffaws and online *insulted* folks over caps? What a joke. Reminder to the Newbies: Anyone can write to anyone OFFLIST [She says, for emphasis.], not admonish them in front of an audience. Miss Manners would surely gauge such intentional maltreatment of others as rude. [Should she capitalize the "r"? Hmmm.] Genealogy lists recommend capitalizing surnames to distinguish them from the rest of the text. This way readers can visually scan an email then decide if it is worth reading. Now, that makes sense. If you have poor vision, do whatever makes you comfortable, without apologies, unless the list specifies otherwise. I bet the median age of members of this list is over 50 anyway.
