John A Scherrer is listed as passing in 1894 not Adam. Who is in his resting place with him ?? While Adam may be John Adam what makes you think there are two fellows, a John A and an Adam. Are they both seen in directories during the same year ?? Do you have two distinct census records with different wives. The first person to show up is John Adam Scherrer in 1847. I believe he is the Adam that can be found who was born in 1829 and died in 1894. He is there off and on and there are even some years when the city directories do not have any Scherrer's spelled any way. Then there is an Adam. He show up more often, and it is hard to tell if he is the same man or a different one. He is not the one that you can consistently find married to a Margareth, all the way up to the 1930 census. There is one time when both are listed in the directory at the same time, both listed at the business and one at the business and the house.Then there is one time when they both are listed at the business but different houses, if I remember correctly. Those two are the ones I can start off with.
