11/21/59? Is this the date of your birth? Does the certificate you have list parents names or anything about them? Does the certificate give an address where the birth took place? What religion did your adoptive parents follow? It might be a clue as to what agency may have handled the adoption. Example, New York Foundling Hospital and so on. I am not sure what a birth cert from the late 50's would show. Ones in the late 60's from Queens County show the mother and fathers name, ages, whether a first child and so on and on. Obviously, a new certificate was issued when the adoption took place. Elizabeth V. Cardinal evc1369@comcast.net
My response was based on New Jersey experience. My birth certificate has only my name and date of birth and city. There is no reference to my parents. In order to get that I would have go to Trenton for a birth record MIKE maurmike1@verizon.net -----Original Message----- From: nynewyor-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nynewyor-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Elizabeth V Cardinal Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 6:19 PM To: nynewyor@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NYNEWYOR] Advice on finding family members 11/21/59?
