Hi Bob, No informant space on death certificate. It was a "free ground"/charity interment for impoverished folks. He is interred in Section 18, with many non-relatives in non-specific graves. Barb -----Original Message----- From: Robert Pieterse <[email protected]> People who were laborers get obituaries . If they are lucky they might get a one line death notice. Who was the informant on the DC and who is buried on the same plot and grave ?? ----Original Message----- From: mizscarlettny via <[email protected]> Dear Friends, Can anyone find an Obit, Naturalization, Irish roots, any other viable facts? A single, Irish immigrant named Alexander McGUIRE died at St. Catherine's Hospital, 133 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11206 http://www.brooklynvisualheritage.org/st-catherines-hospital on Monday afternoon, November 29, 1886, certificate # 14320. This is Ward 15 and in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. He was a patient at St. Kit's for about 6 weeks before dying of "red blood swelling of the brain." Alexander was 53 years old, and born about 1832-1833, and according to his death certificate, both of his parents were also born in Ireland. He worked as a laborer and no informant, or home address, or usual residence, is noted on his death certificate. St. John's Cemetery in Queens confirmed Alexander's burial on 1 December 1886, although he does not appear in their online cemetery index search. He is interred in Section 18, the "free ground" aka "charity" section where a large Statue of the Blessed Mother marks the entire section; there are no individual markers. Section 18 by is just within the back gates off of Furmanville Avenue. Let's connect Alexander McGUIRE to his family in Ireland. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=McGuire&GSiman=1&GScid=66012&GRid=156364767& Barb ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
