Take a look at Tom Gregory's transcriptions of Olde New York City Directories, 1786 - 1833. *It's indispensable, especially when you're unsure of their ancestors' religious persuasion.* He extracted names of ministers and/or churches from LDS microfilms, whichever appeared. "Ministers of the Gospel" Episcopal Church- Rev Dr Samuel Provoost, Bishop, Rev Mr. Beache, RevMr Moore United Lutheran Church- Dr John Christopher Kunzie Methodist Church- Rev Morrell & Rev Mr Cloud St Peter's Church- Rev John O' Brien Presbyterian Church- Rev Dr John Rodgers Reformed Dutch Church- Dr J H Livingston, Rev Dr William Linn German Church- Rev Mr Gross Scotch Presbyterian Church- Rev Dr John Mason Baptist Church- Rev Mr Foster Jewish Synagogue- Rev [sic] Gershom Seixas Catholic churches were first identified in 1833, when only 3 parishes existed. This, before the surge of Famine era immigrants. St Patrick's Cathedral, Dubois - Mott c Prince Christ Church, Varela - Ann n William St Peters, Levins - Barclay c Church PLEASE NOTE: You might find early19th century births and marriages through Google books and by searching by name of minister. Often traveling ministers kept logs of marriages that they performed.
