Often a site lists the newspaper you're looking for, but doesn't have the years you need. I still rely on my volumes of Maher's "Index to Marriages and Deaths in the New York Herald" [favored by Irish], but that ends in 1876. Barb [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: Mark Lomax <[email protected]> Access to Newspaperarchive.com is available through many public libraries.  Check with your local public libraries before subscribing.  I have access through the Los Angeles Public Library. Currently, I have a personal subscription to GenealogyBank.com, and I had a subscription to Newspapers.com (owned by Ancestry.com), which I let lapse.  They all have different newspapers available for searching.  The value of any subscription will depend on whether the company has digitized the newspapers you are interested in.  Before subscribing, check to see which newspapers it has available. At that time I didn't know about Newspaper Archives. Some customer complaints, filed through the Iowa Attorney General's Office, were that members could not cancel subscription renewals, receive responses to phone calls and emails, and receive legitimate refunds. Newspaper Archives is banned from misleading customers to make donations when they engage services. We've encountered similar frustrations with online services. Let's hope that this case sets a precedent.
