    3. Hi List, I have tried every thing I know to find the date of death for my great uncles wife, Mrs. C. H. Callaghan. Her name was Anna Mae or Ann. I found a letter from her dated 21 Jan 1961 when she would have been between 85 and 90 years old. She had been in the hospital and suffered a heart attack and was writing to my father. Her address then was; Mrs. C. H. Callaghan, 27 West 72nd St. New York 23, NY. Her late husband had been a very sucessful business man, owner of a shipping company and at his death past president of the Maritime Commission. I cannnot find her in the SSDI or in the Italian or German death certificate indexes. She may not have ever had a SS card. I have a subscription to Ancestry.com but the newspaper lookups are insanely slow with my dial up connection. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to find an obituary? Ray in Georgia

The information I have managed to find is as follows: My x4 great grandparents John Eaton and Bridget Corrigan (who where both born in Ireland) had a daughter, Mary Ellen Eaton (born c1857,in Ireland) who I have found out was married in Manhattan, New York to a Timothy James Sullivan (born c1850 in Massachusetts, New York, New York) on the 10th November 1878. I would like to obtain a copy of their marriage certificate but I'm unsure as to where I can obtain this from and I also would like to know the costs of a international purchase, as I live in England. Additional information I have from Ancestry.com is: Cert number: 6331 Source: Marriage registers, extracts from Manhattan (1869 -1880) Publisher: Dept of Health, division of Vital statistics, New York Publication place: New York, New York. If any lister has any other information about this family I would be very grateful for any data from them as I have hit a brick wall with my Irish ancestral line and I am also curious as to why, as far as I can tell, Mary Ellen went to America on her own. 1. [NYNEWYOR] IGG/GGG Blocking of the One-Step Website
    2. Diane Jacobs
    3. As many of you are probably aware, the IGG and GGG websites have been blocking Steve Morse's One-Step site from accessing their data. This has been going on for about a month now, and it has meant that we genealogists have been deprived of the added value that Steve's site had to offer. For example, Steve's site allowed you to click on a link to obtain the corresponding bride once you found a groom in the NYC marriage records, and vice versa. His site reported an estimated year of birth on the result page for the NYC death records. And Steve's site lets you display more than just the 20 hits per page that IGG/GGG restrict you to. Well the good news is that the blockage has just been lifted. As least as far as the IGG site goes and I'm guessing that the GGG site will do the same shortly. So once again we can use Steve's site to do our searches of the IGG data. If you have any questions about this, please don't write to me but rather write to Steve directly. He is very good about answering email and his email address is at the top of his one-step website --- http://stevemorse.org. - Diane Jacobs Somerset, NJ

    1. [NYNEWYOR] GOLDSBURY / JONES
    2. Judy Bingham
    3. Hi -- I'm not sure if I have the right list -- if I don't perhaps someone could point me in the right direction. I'm interested in the period between 1776 and 1782 in and around St. Paul's church -- Loyalists -- specifically Samuel Goldsbury/Gouldsbury and Stephen Jones. I've been researching the Goldsbury family for many years and have just been contacted by a woman in London who descends from the Jones family (Stephen Jones married Sarah Goldsbury, a daughter of Samuel). The families came from Massachusetts, were Loyalists in the Revolutionary War, and subsequent to their stay in NYC, Moved to Digby (Weymouth), Nova Scotia. If anyone is related to these families or can suggest where further records might be obtained for this period of time, I'd really appreciate it. Judy Bingham Fullerton, California
