Does anyone know how court record lookups are done in Mineola, NY? Do they do it for a fee, or are you free to go in and look something up yourself? I'd rather do it in person, or have someone do it for me, because I can't get there myself (I'm a caregiver), but I'd order a copy if I had to. It would be about an adoption, before adoption records were sealed. I'm told that SOMETIMES the info is still available in the records back in 1932 when the adoption was finalized. Actually, I think we know the mothers name, and baby's name at birth in 1930. I'm hoping to get more info, and I guess verify what we have. If anyone knows how it's done, or can help me, let me know.
