In the Hempstead Inquirer, there's a marriage announcement for one of my ancestors stating the marriage took place in 'the parsonage' by Rev M. Burr. The marriage took place on 25 Dec 1868. This family shows in the records of Grace Episcopal Church in what is now Massapequa from the early 1870's, but there is no marriage record for this couple in their records for 1868. I imagine it's likely the couple were married in the bride's church, although the groom's sister was married on the same day, same place. The two couples are: John Henry Wanser from Seaford and Sarah Elizabeth Smith from East Meadow. Edward Verity and Sarah Frances Wanser, both from Seaford.
