I should have included in my last e-mail... I wrote to the Town of N. Hemopstead for a "COPY" of the 1900 Death Certificate. They responded with a "TRANSCRIPTION" of the document. It did not contain certain info obtained from NYC certificates, such as: 1. address 2. informant 3. Mother's maiden name (it may not have been known) etc. Do they have a policy of not suppling copies of the original document? Do the TRANSCRIBE all information on the document? Is what I was given the best I can expect? He died on June 8, 1900 as having died in "New Cassel". Would this area be considered one and the same? or Are they seperate areas?
