I should have included in my last e-mail... I wrote to the Town of N. Hemopstead for a "COPY" of the 1900 Death Certificate. They responded with a "TRANSCRIPTION" of the document. It did not contain certain info obtained from NYC certificates, such as: 1. address 2. informant 3. Mother's maiden name (it may not have been known) etc. Do they have a policy of not suppling copies of the original document? Do the TRANSCRIBE all information on the document? Is what I was given the best I can expect? Subj: Westbury Station - New Cassel  Date: 1/9/2003 1:50:05 PM Eastern Standard Time From: <A HREF="mailto:AlbertSomers01">AlbertSomers01</A> To: <A HREF="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</A> My G-Grandfather and family are listed in the 1900 census as living in "Westbury Station".  He died on June 8, 1900 as having died in "New Cassel".  Would this area be considered one and the same? or Are they seperate areas?
