He was born in NJ about 1894; his sibs Jennie and Matthew were later born in New York. Mother =Mary, unsure of maiden name...may be Burke, McDonald, or Campbell. Mary may have been born in NY about 1871& her parents were from Ireland. They are listed in the January 1920 Census at 104 Lenox Avenue in Manhattan, NYC. Mary is a widow [no name of husband]. Her children: William age 25 plumber born in New Jersey [birth 1894], Jennie age 24 no occupation born in New York [birth 1895], and Matthew age 22 checker at the piers born in New York [birth 1897]. Matthew Fitzgerald lived at 2868 Miles Avenue in the Bronx in January 1947, and was married. My grandfather, WALTER BURKE [born 1897] and his sister Anna Burke [born 1901] lived with their aunt, Mary Fitzgerald, on this 1920 census, after leaving St. Dominic's Orphan Asylum in Blauvelt, Rockland Co., NY. Before St. Dom's they lived around Downing Street in Greenwich Village,NYC. Their father was JAMES BURKE [born Ireland 1867]; mother's name before marriage says ELLEN [Nellie] McDONALD [born Ireland 1866]; her first husband died and may have been named CAMPBELL. Immigration and marriage places and dates unknown. Ellen died, maybe in 1910. James may have remarried after 1910. THIS WHOLE CORNER OF MY FAMILY IS STUCK. PLEASE HELP.
