Dobbins, president of the medical board of St. John's Hospital, Long Island City, Queens, died of a heart attack Saturday in his home, 42-04 Ditmars Boulevard, Astoria. He was 67 years old. Dr. Dobbins was a past president and director of the Queens County Medical Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He set up Selective Service medical boards in both world wars. He joined the St. John's Hospital staff in 1914 as an interne after graduating from the University of Buffalo medical school. Surviving are his widow; three sons Walton, Dr. James M. Dobbins, Jr., and Comdr. Richard F. Dobbins of the Navy Medical Corps; four daughters, Mrs. Travis McGehee, Mrs. Geoffrey Puccio, Mrs. Jean Hutchison and Mrs. Henry Stein; a brother, George, and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Prestine and Mrs. Ellen Dougherty.
