My experience with the Town of Hempstead has been very frustrating. My grandmother died in Meadowbrook Hospital (Nassau County Medical Center) in 1960. I had to prove my direct relationship, my identity and why I wanted the info before the would send me a copy of her death certificate. I had less problems with the Town of Oyster Bay. But! The person I am tracking had two sons, one is my grandson's father, the other is his brother. I was going to "ask" the brother how old his father was at the time of his birth, this way I could narrow down the search for my grandson's grandfather. Let's hope the brother won't mind!
