Last year someone posted the death of GRANT PEARSALL at Upola, Naavigators Group, Fiji Islands. The Poster only said it was from a 4 August 1894 paper. The complete post was "d. only a few years ago at Upola, Navigators Group, Fiji Islands,native of Pearsalls, who left Long Island nearly 30 years ago on a whaling ship; deserted at Pago Pago, samoa with a companion, ------Seaman of Sag Harbor, for years, ???? lived a roving life among the islands of Polynesia, finally setling down at Upola....where they took unto themselves native wives and adopted the manner and customs of the islands."
