I grew up in Lynbrook at 61 Lafayette st, then 4 and 6 Edward Street. Grandparents lived at 72 Noble street. Edward street was in the unincorporated area near Malverne. Our mailing address was Lynbrook but nothing else was from Lynbrook. I believe we were protected by county agencies, fire and police. my Mom, who was from Lynbrook, referred to the Village of Lynbrook as either the 5 corners, (Pearsalls Corners) which would have been the interesection of Hempstead avenue and three other streets or the other shopping area just south of that intersection. The names of the other streets escape me just now. as far as I remember the village was the core of the shopping area and not a retirement home. regards, valerie class of 1961 Malverne. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
