We have found a Bible with the inscription "To William Stoothoff from your Sabbath School teacher Mary E. Smith. Dec. 25, 1872 Rockville Center" We have been to RC and found limited information (However, we had only a few hours.) Our guess is that the church was likely St. Mark's Methodist Church, but they told us that there was a fire about 1930 and most records were lost. I have found a Wm in the 1870 census in the family of Jacob R. Stoothoff, mother Phebe, sister Arabella. But since I have no other information I can't link my William to this family. Can anyone help?
