Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lRB.2ACE/892.3.1 Message Board Post: To correct one mistake in my earlier post: the John Foster who was one of the original freeholders of Elizabethtown NJ in 1664 was not John, son of Henry Foster. Most sources claim it was John, son of Thomas Foster, but it could not have been since that John was born after his father's death in 1663/4. The only one old enough to have gone to Elizabethtown was John Sr., brother of Thomas. Some of the Jamaica men who went to NJ quickly sold their interests and returned to Long Island. See how easy it is to get these darned Fosters mixed up! :)
